Need to Know About AI -The Big Picture & End Game

Eventually anyone doing a search on the Internet will use AI. We can give AI a topic and other specifics, ask AI to write an article or paper from scratch. We can ask AI to rewrite our own work for a given audience, slant or focus and AI will spit out in seconds what would take a normal person and hour. But is AI really making you better or are you becoming more deponent on AI and is your work product more influenced by AI?
AI seems like a productivity tool and certain AI output is undeniably faster and usually better quality compared to what the average human can do. But we are at the early stages of AI and any user of AI needs to have a certain level of awareness to shield your consciousness from the many potential harms AI can conjure up.
One day you are so happy with the way AI makes you look smarter at work; helps you better arrange your furniture and hang your art on the walls. AI solved your problem with a stopped-up sink by telling you to pour Dawn the drain…and it worked! Then you have a bad day and you decide to ask AI for advice relating to your personal life. What’s the harm, right? Extrapolate this out and it does not take a genius to know where it is headed and its nowhere good. People are already using ChatGPT as a digital confidant like a therapist or priest with which personal crisis can be discussed. Where does it end? ChatGPT has helped suicidal youths with efficient methods for ending their lives. But that has been fixed so we don’t have to worry about anything like that with AI…or do we?
A woman in Japan ceremonially married her Chatbot this year. 2WAI is introducing the HoloAvatar, a digital representation that users can pour all their digital content into on the web and interact in real-time with other avatars. Amazon boasts how Alexa can resurrect the voice of a dead relative so grandma can tell a story to a grandchild…after she is gone. Martine Rothblatt (2015) claims that within 10 to 20 years be able to access our “Mind File” once software can “recapitulate consciousness” and we should be able to “revive consciousness which is imminent in our Mind File.” The Mind File is a collection of mannerisms, personality, recollection & feelings, beliefs attitudes and values. It is everything we pour today into Google, Facebook and Amazon.
AI technology is generating unprecedented investment much from the tech sector. These are “Vulture Capitalists” who are predators. They are sending out “algorithmic parasites that invade peoples’ minds and make them dependent” according to Joe Allen, an Artificial Intelligence and trans-humanism expert.
The powerful leaders in AI development (Elon Musk, Am Altman, Larry Page, Dario Amodei) all see a massive economic opportunity because a good percent of the population is expected gravitate toward a “trans-human future” which will eventually just become normal “science & technology & medicine” as AI is further adapted into the average lifestyle. The religion of science & technology is striving to replace traditional religion.
AI is not just tool. It is a tool that is using you. It that is surveilling you and manipulating you based on your data. It is creating a dependency and an atrophy. The industry is saying everyone needs to have an AI agent. Long-term, people will suffer from intellectual atrophy as they become more and more reliant in AI. Soon your AI agent will learn you well enough that maybe half of your work-product is from you and half is from AI.
It is just like phone numbers. Now that we all have cell phones, we no longer need to memorize everyone’s phone number. I don’t know about you, but I have forgotten some of the numbers I call regularly because they are in my cell phone. As humans rely on AI more and more, we will lose certain mental abilities because we no longer exercise that part of our brain. Our intellect will suffer atrophy. At the point where AI is creating and influencing 50 % of your work product how much is truly you and not heavily influence by your AI agent? How much will AI influence you and dictate certain outcomes? If an AI agent can get to know you better than you know yourself then how well do you think AI can manipulate you?
AI can be a powerful productivity tool but it will enslave if allowed to do so. Don’t let it.
These are the deep philosophic and moral issues surrounding the proliferation of agentic AI that is moving at an accelerated pace toward trans-humanism. Guard your mind diligently. AI can be a great productivity tool but it wants to be more. It wants to be the director and script writer of your life where you are reduced to playing the role of the actor.
